Lauterbrunnen – Grütschalp – Mürren. Given that Mürren is unspoilt by traffic, you can reach it only by train, cableway, and of course, on foot. As your journey starts in Lauterbrunnen, you can take the direct cableway to Grütschalp and admire the scenic landscape from above. The hike took about 4 hours total from Murren to Schilthorn including breaks and stopping to take photos. The hike was all uphill and the last portion from the lake to the top of the mountain was snow covered but the trail was well marked. Great hike from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren. We hiked there and back for a total of 8-9 miles. The first 2ish miles are strenuous uphill but with great views and you may be able to spot some cows. The last 1.5ish miles is flat but you’re exposed. Would recommend this hike to anyone in the Lauterbrunnen area. How to Get from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren. There are two main ways you can get up to Mürren from Lauterbrunnen: hiking or taking the aerial cableway and train. If you’re only doing a day trip, hiking up to the town isn’t the way to go.
